I’ve been writing about SEO outsourcing for years and I usually start by explaining the many benefits and how all the Fortune 500 make big profits due to outsourcing so in this article I will leave that out and just focus primarily on the conditions of SEO outsourcing in Romania.

SEO Outsourcing Romania

seo-romanniaAfter living and working in India and the Philippines on various BPO projects, I found myself being sent to Romania for my most recent SEO outsourcing assignment.  Romania had always been on my radar for IT outsourcing.  In fact, I remember  hearing somewhere that the second most spoken language in Microsoft is Romanian.

My purpose for this trip is to establish a SEO outsourcing team with writers, programmers, bloggers, link builders and social media optimizers.  The reason such a big team is needed is because SEO has evolved in such a way that it now requires a bigger workforce.  This is partially due to  the thousands of new algorithms that Google and other search engines use but mainly because Google has been cracking down hard on SERP spam.  If you want to add tens of thousands of links to your site, you can either spam which I don’t suggest or get a big ass team of link builders in Romania and do it the right way.

Link Builders SEO Outsourcing Romania

Bucharest caught me off guard coming from Bangalore or Manila.  It’s a booming Eastern European city with a bright future in global BPO.  I strongly believe that Romania has the potential to be the largest IT and SEO outsourcing destination in the world.  After the revolution in 1989, the iron fist of communism was lifted and I believe the biggest rewards can be found in the younger generation.  When I look in the eyes of Romania’s youth I see creativity and an awareness like they have just caught a glimpse of something great.  That something great is the internet age and this puts them in the right place, at the right time!  Romanians are very active online and I was shocked to see how many people have their own personbucharest-seoal blog, are active members on forums, play online games and they also happen to be social media addicts with thousands of friends on Facebook and Hi5.  All the right ingredients to be savvy SEOs.

Just so I can give a non bias opinion I will also list the drawbacks to SEO outsourcing in Romania as well.  As with any developing country businesses have to work their way through the proverbial red tape of bureaucracy when dealing with the labor board, licensing, service providers, inspections, etc.  That being said, I was happy but surprised to find that there’s hardly any corruption in the business arena, especially when compared to how bad it is India and the Philippines.

Feel free to join in the conversation below or ask questions.  Are you an SEO? Are you a developer? Are you Romanian? What are your thoughts on SEO outsourcing in Romania?

    Hello,

Do you think outsourcing IT and customer service to Romania has a good business potential?

I was born in Romania but now live in Canada.

One of my former friends there, IT specialist is very confident that they can fulfill any IT or Customer Service requests from Canada or US.

I am mainly concerned about the accent and time-zone difference and western business experience of Romanians.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you,

    Gabriel N.

      Hi Gabriel,
Yes I am 100% confident that RO is a good place for IT outsourcing. That being said, outsourcing to ANY emerging country can be challenging so its all relevant. I still work in India and the Philippines too but the reason I choose RO was because its now part of the EU and therefore, a safer and more secure investment. Without knowing any details about your process, I can’t give you too much advice but I will say this, make sure you are willing to spend some time here to get used to the culture and the way they do business here. Don’t just jump in head first until you know how deep the water is. Most people like us, that are from Canada, US or the UK, usually get chewed up and spit out in places like this. I’ve been outsourcing since 2006 but it took me years and hard lessons before I finally got it right. I’m a member of the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce™ and I found great help and assistance there. Let me know if you want me to put you in contact with their director out of DC? Best wishes and please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help? Like my grandpa always said, “friendly advice is free but its not worth a damn if you don’t take it.” :-)

What issues exist with regards to language in RO?

Poor communication is one of those things that can devalue everything upon which it is built so would this be an issue?

Good question Ben, I always hate to say that one country is better than another at a certain thing because I get lash backs from my colleagues in the other countries. That being said, the English in RO is great and I think its because Romanian is a Latin based language so we share a lot of the same words they are just pronounced differently. This also makes their vocabulary much more extensive than an Asian country (India or Philippines). I have also found their English to be ten times better than most other European countries like Germany, France and Switzerland to name a few. Lastly, they are great writers too which is critical for communication but even more critical for SEO outsourcing. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have anymore questions.
