BPO Romania has built up great strength in IT, SEO outsourcing and call centers in it’s recent years. Are you lost and are wondering about outsource IT work in Romania or setup an offshore facility? Want to know more about BPO in Romania? Well here’s your chance because I happen to have plenty of experience in that department.
I first started offshore BPO in 2004 but I didn’t actually jump on a plane a work overseas until 2005. That being said, I have now worked in lived in India, Thailand, the Philippines and now my most recent BPO Romania venture!
BPO Romania Outsourcing Hub of the Future
Before I go on to explain just what I’m up to here in Romania, I first want to talk about why I choose BPO Romania as the premier outsourcing destination of the future.
Romania is not just “Westernized” but it is a Western country located in Europe. Romania was freed from the Iron Fist of communism in in 1989 and was then inducted into the European Union (EU) 18 years later in 2007. This makes Romania the only Western country with a low enough cost of living and cost of labor to justify outsourcing to. For years I have been struggling with the challenges of bridging business from the Eastern world to the Western world but with BPO Romania the gap is much smaller.
Doing business in Euros has many benefits, firstly the exchange rate is higher than the US dollar but the cost of labor is much lower. You can hire a full time college graduate for under 500 Euros per month in contrast to paying $3,000 and up Stateside.
Secondly, the legal infrastructure of doing business in the EU removes huge risks when compared to India or the Philippines. Send your money overseas to one of these countries and you will be at their mercy. The repercussions are little to none. Trust me, I’ve tried to fight a courtroom battle over a $29,000 transaction in the Philippines. After 5 years of fighting your opponent in 3rd world bureaucracy, you might win but there won’t be much money left to collect after paying the court fees and attorneys. In contrast, you can expect a just and less corrupt legal system in Romania and that alone discourages any breaches of contract.
Lastly, the people and their culture are just like you and I. Sure they might sound a bit like vampires on the phone but being raised in the Western world and speaking English from birth, has its advantages. This makes BPO Romania much more suitable for call center services as well as SEO outsourcing and IT services. Most Romanians grew up with the same values and culture as the rest of the Western world including the US, UK and Australia. If you met a Romanian on the street or in your local pub you wouldn’t be able to distinguish them apart.

Okay, so now you know why I predict Romania will be the next big BPO hub of the world, I’ll tell you what I’m doing here (and no its not the beautiful women). I came here for a few reasons…
