My story

The work changes.
The curiosity stays.

I grew up in southeastern North Carolina and started my first business at 20. Real estate led me into lead generation and search marketing. As the work grew, so did my interest in building teams across borders.

In 2006, I traveled to Bangalore to set up an offshore call center, then expanded into the Philippines. Over time, I set up and managed offices in Romania, India, South Africa, Georgia, and the Philippines. That experience helped shape Clark Staff, the company I co-founded with Russell Meiselman.

Today, I’m still interested in the same underlying questions: How do you create useful work? How do people learn together? And how do you turn an idea into something that makes a difference?

Beyond business

There’s more than
one way to learn.

I’m a father, traveler, musician, and writer. Jiu-jitsu and yoga have also become part of how I think about practice, patience, and progress.

This site brings those threads together. Alongside current writing, you’ll find older articles that record how my interests and ideas have developed over time.
