New SEO for a New Google

As we all know by now Google Instant allows you instantly see the results of your search before even finish typing what it is you were looking for, hence the slogan “faster than the speed of type”.  While it will take a while before the SEO community wraps their heads around the new Google, one thing is for sure.  The user/customer is now more enticed to be lead astray from their original searching objectives.  I’ll give an example using Mortgage SEO as my subject since that happens to be one of my fortes.  Let’s say that a person is considering a trip to Morocco and conducts a search to find out more about the country.  By the time they get to Mor they will see the results for mortgage and if that person just so happens to be in the market for a mortgage or even had a slight interest on the subject he or she may very well divert their search and click on a mortgage relative result instead.  So what does this mean and how can we use it to get more traffic?  The answer is to target instant click through!

Two new terms to add to your SEO glossary…

  • Instant Clicks
  • Instant Keyword Research

Instant Clicks– Are the click troughs generated when the user clicks on a result before they finish typing what it was they were looking for.

Instant Keyword Research– Is research that is targeted around achieving instant impression and clicks.

The future of getting these instant clicks is going to be all about the keyword research.  This has created a new type of keyword research that I will coin Instant Keyword Research.  Instant keyword research aims to hijack clicks (if you will).  So if you wanted to get instant clicks you could easily target the instant keyword “mor” and with proper search engine optimization you could rank for that term.
